The article leaves out an important demographic fact in Florida: the large number of “Latinos” are lumped together as Spanish language heritage makes everyone into a single think-entity. The Cuban-American community, which fled from Communist oppression responds to Trump’s red-baiting differently than other groups. Florida the place Cuban-American are most concentrated in the country. It would be helpful, analytically to break down the cultural differences to show whether the big Trump support there is mainly because of anti-communist sentiments that would respond strongly to GOP attempts to paint the Dems’ left flank as modern day Che Guevaras. I’d like to see how “Latino” Floridians who are not Cuban-Americans poll. That would tell us a lot more than an undifferentiated Spanish-language heritage category does!
