6/5: It’s All in the Makeup Bag?

Is less really more when it comes to wearing makeup?  At first glance, yes.  When asked how often they wear makeup, 56% of Americans report they never put it on!  14% say they pull out their makeup cases for special occasions while 11% put a little war paint on when they go out for work or with friends.  10% say it’s whenever they leave the house, and just 9% say they always apply it.

Are those results surprising?  To really understand those numbers, one needs to take a closer look at just who’s pulling out their lipstick and mascara.  Men tip the scales in the opposite direction with very few men wearing makeup.  Just 2% say they put on makeup for special occasions.  97%, on the other hand, say they never wear it.

Women are the total opposite.  81% of the fairer sex says they wear makeup at least some of the time.  This includes 18% who always apply it, and 19% who won’t leave home without it.  The same proportion — 19% — break out their makeup cases when going to work or out with friends while 26% wear makeup for special occasions.  Just 19% of women never apply cosmetics.

Hello, your statistics are impressive but I personally wear m makeup every day and would not be seen dead without it. How some women can actually leave their homes without at least a blush on I will never know.

I suppose as long as they wear some perfume and have hairless legs it is fine as well.

The secret is to only carry around in your bag the beauty items that you need for immediate on-the-road repairs and refreshment. Otherwise, if you are like me you will need a suitcase! Tough luck if you bump into Mr. Right unprepared.

There’s a trend now of blending tints with skincare products. It produces a cosmetic product that works perfectly for skincare and imparts color that looks more natural. So, instead of wearing traditional makeup people can now opt for tinted lip balm and still say they don’t wear any makeup.

I wear makeup everyday, however I do believe less is better. During the work week I typically wear lipstick and mascara and nothing else, but on the weekends when I’m going out to an event I will apply everything to give me that well-polished look.

I prefer natural/organic makeup instead of the traditional makeup we’ve been use to for so many years.

Less is better in my opinion. I have worn make-up half my life but just enough to cover any imperfections on my skin.
