If you’ve moved beyond snail mail, you’re not alone. More than three-quarters of Americans have an email address. Have we piqued your curiosity? Here’s what else The Marist Poll found out.
– 77% of U.S. residents have an email address. 23% do not.
– Most employed residents — 87% — report they personally have an email address.
– More, younger Americans — 90% — have their own email accounts compared with their older counterparts — 69%.
– Income is a determining factor. 95% of residents earning an annual salary of $50,000 or more have an email address. 66% of those earning less say the same.

wow, those are some crazy statistics, i had no idea that only richer people tended to have emails, it makes sense about the age, but some of those are shocking. thanks for the info.
In the circles I move in, everybody has an email address, so the stats seemed rather low. But on reflection, there can’t be many children under, say, 7 with email addresses, nor those aged over 80. If those two groups and those who are seriously unwell are taken out of the count, you end up with a figure which will be far closer to 100%.
